The BC women's team is coming off a nail-biting, two-point defeat at the hands of the Huntingdon College Hawks. The visiting Hawks bested the Tornados by a final of 53-51 last Saturday at The Bosh.

Point guard Ty'She Washington led the Tornados in just her third game back following an injury that had sidelined her for the opening months of the season.  Washington scored a game-high 18 points with three made three-pointers to go along with three assists and two steals.  The Charlotte, North Carolina native was just one rebound shy of a double-double, pulling down nine boards.

Shakirah Thompson continued her three-point shooting prowess with three buckets from beyond the arc en route to 11 points.  It marked the eighth time this season that Thompson has made three or more three-pointers.  Deja Riddick led all players with 12 rebounds to go along with nine points, two steals and two assists.  Destiny Williams pulled down nine rebounds and dished out three assists.

Riddick's impressive work on the glass has shown up in the USA South's statistical rankings. The Norfolk, Virginia native is averaging 9.1 rebounds-per-game, which ranks third in the conference. Furthermore, Thompson's 43 made 3-pointers this season ranks third in the USA South.

Covenant as a team is tied-for-second with 4.1 blocked shots-per-game and leads the league with 14.8 assists-per-contest. Additionally, the Scots shoot 3-pointers at a 30.6% clip, which puts them fourth in the conference. The Scots have been led by junior forward Hannah Monday, who averages 12.3 points-per-game and shoots 50.6% from the field.

Brevard's men's squad wrapped up a stretch of five-out-of-six games on the road over the weekend. The Tornados claimed a two-point, 83-81 triumph over Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama on Friday night.

Junior forward Cannon Lamb scored 26 points, just one point shy from his career-high, on 10-of-18 shooting from the field with three made 3-pointers. Senior forward Levi Lamb stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, three boards, three assists, and two blocks, while Joshua Wilson rejected a game-high four shots. Senior guard Qadhafi Turner scored 12 points off the bench on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Brevard continues to move the ball well in its games, as the Tornados boast 14.2 assists-per-game, a mark that ranks third in the league. Brevard has connected 152 times this season from long distance, which puts the Tornados fourth in the conference in 3-pointers made.

Offensively, the Scots have been led by the sophomore duo of Kevin Chong (12.7 ppg) and Nicholas Clifton (12.3 ppg), while senior Joshua Brooks has averaged 11.1 points-per-contest. Clifton's 8.1 rebounds-per-game leads Maryville as well.

Following Tuesday's doubleheader, the BC women's team embarks on four-consecutive road contests, beginning with a Saturday, February 1 trip to LaGrange, Georgia to face LaGrange College at 2 p.m. Brevard's men's team concludes 2019-20 with five-of-seven matchups at the Boshamer Gymnasium. This stretch continues as the Tornados welcome William Peace University to The Bosh on Saturday, February 1 at 2 p.m.
