Men’s Cross Country Earns Runner-Up Finish at USA South Championships; Three Earn All-Conference Honors

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -  The Brevard College men's cross country team finished in second place at the 2022 USA South Conference Men's Cross Country Championships, marking the program's highest-ever finish at the conference meet on Saturday in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on the campus of NC Wesleyan University.

Dalton Hawley, Devon Brodmyer, and Garrett Spangler all finished in the top 10 of the event to garner USA South All-Conference accolades. Hawley led all Tornados with a fourth-place finish, 26:45.5, while Brodmyer finished in fifth with a time of 26:57.7 as the junior duo earned All-Conference First Team spots. Spangler crossed the finish line in the seven-spot with a time of 27:41.1, good enough for All-Conference Second Team honors.

Justin King (17th, 29:15) and Michael Fader (18th, 29:15.1) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Tornados. Freshman Blayne Morton finished in 27th with a time of 30:31.2.

In addition to his All-Conference finish, Hawley was also honored on the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team for men's cross country.
