ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Brevard College women's cross country team finished in fourth place, as junior Zoe Capps led the Tornados with a 10th-place individual finish, earning All-Conference Second Team honors at the 2022 USA South Women's Cross Country Championship in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on the campus of NC Wesleyan University.
Capps, a junior from Hendersonville, North Carolina, earned the top-10 finish with a time of 24:37.4 in the six-kilometer race to lead the way for Brevard, securing the first All-Conference award of her Tornado career. In addition to her All-Conference finish, Capps was also named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team.
Sophomores Sandra Diaz-Martinez (22nd, 26:42) and Haylea-Layne Miller (26th, 27:49.6) earned top-30 results for BC, while freshman Paige Kneubuhler (46th, 34:10.5) and sophomore Hannah Hersh (48th, 36:13.7) – two dual-sport athletes at BC – rounded out the field for the Tornados.
