GAME NOTES: AGNES SCOTT VS BREVARD
BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Women's Basketball team (8-10. 4-8 USAS) comes back to the Boshamer Gymnasium for a weekend matinee rematch against USA South West Division opponent Agnes Scott (1-20, 1-11 USAS) on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip-off. The Tornados and Scotties met once before this season, with BC claiming a 52-41 decision in Decatur, Ga. on December 8, 2018. Senior guard Annalee Bollinger led the way for BC in its victory, tallying 17 points, six rebounds, and four steals in the victorious effort. Destiny Williams was the only other Tornado to tally double-figures in Decatur, recording 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and three steals in an all-around stat-stuffing effort.
Brevard will look to bounce back from its most recent setback at the hands of the Covenant Scots, falling 67-61 in Lookout Mountain, Ga. The Tornados uncharacteristically committed a season-high 30 turnovers in a back-and-forth affair that saw 11 ties and 11 lead changes during the contest.
Both Williams and Ty'She Washington proved to be bright spots for the Tornados in the contest, as the two sophomores each recorded career-high scoring totals.
Williams racked up 21 points and nine rebounds in a near double-double effort while swiping a team-high four steals. Willaims supplanted her previous career-high total of 20 set on November 28, 2018, at home against Toccoa Falls.
Washington added 18 points on a very efficient 7-of-13 shooting, passing her previous career-best of 17 points set on February 7, 2018, at home against Piedmont College.
After Brevard's matchup with Agnes Scott, the Tornados head to Raleigh, N.C. for a non-divisional matchup with William Peace (11-8) on Monday, January 28 at 6 p.m.
