Two members of the Brevard climbing program, Caroline Safford and Matt Stephens, qualified for Collegiate Nationals in the Appalachian Regions following their performance in Nashville, Tenn., at the Appalachian Regional Championships over the weekend.
Caroline Safford placed in the top five in the women's competition, with Nathan Boepple, Will Christiansen, and Jordan Haak placing in the top 15 on the men's side in the Rock and Rumble competition in Cullowhee over the weekend.
After hosting the second annual Boulder Bash on Jan. 20th, the Brevard rock climbers will travel to Cullowhee for the Rock and Rumble Competition hosted by Western Carolina.
The Brevard rock climbing team had two climbers place in the top five on the women's side, and Matthew Stephens placing first in the speed and sport competitions on the men's side as the team had a successful competition last Saturday in Nashville.
The Brevard Rock Climbing team will travel to Boone on Saturday for the Southern Comfort bouldering competition for the first event of the 2017-18 season.
