BREVARD, N.C. – Sophomore Hannah Hersh was honored by the USA South Conference following a 4-0 trip for the Tornados to Hilton Head Island. South Carolina, as the Estero, Florida native was named USA South Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Hersh, the Tornados' top-flight singles student-athlete and also one-half of BC's number-one doubles unit alongside senior Alli Kogoy, earned her second Player of the Week honor of 2023 following a dominant week for Brevard as a whole.
Hersh earned a 4-0 singles mark and a 3-1 doubles record all at the top positions last week for the Tornados. In singles, Hersh earned wins over opponents from Catholic, Clarion, Penn. St.-Behrend, and Cornell College. In doubles, she teamed with Kogoy to grab wins over Catholic, Clarion, and Cornell College.
All told, Hersh is 7-2 on the year in top-flight singles competition and her and Kogoy are 6-2 at the top doubles spot.
The Tornados will return to play at the McCoy Tennis Complex on Sunday at 12 p.m. as Brevard faces NC Wesleyan University to open USA South play.
Hersh's honor gives BC a grand total of 42 weekly awards from the USA South so far in 2022-23.
