Brevard’s Win Streak Reaches Seven Matches with 8-0 Win over Agnes Scott

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (9-4, 3-0 USAS) continued the program's longest winning streak its the last eight seasons by taking an 8-0 victory against Agnes Scott (0-9, 0-3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex. 

The Tornados took both of the played doubles decisions handily before cruising through the four singles decisions that were played out. BC won no. 3 doubles and no. 5 singles by forfeit, while the no. 6 singles line was dropped from the match completely.

Brevard has amassed nine wins total thus far in the 2018-19 campaign, which is the most single-season wins the program has seen since the 2010-11 season. With one more win, the 2018-19 Tornados will become just the fourth BC Women's Tennis team to reach double-digit victories in the NCAA-era at Brevard College. 

Samantha Sepe continued her singles win streak which matches her team's streak of seven matches. Sepe cruised to yet another victory in no. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, against Agnes Scott's Damira Augustin. Sepe holds a dominant 8-2 record at the no. 1 line for the Tornados this season. 

In doubles, the duo of Sepe and Darden King took an 8-2 decision on the no. 1 line, while Margaret Correll and Jen Cox swept the decision in no. 2 doubles, 8-0.

Flannery remained unbeaten in singles action as a collegiate, sweeping the Scotties' Xiaobin Zhou, 6-0, 6-0. The match marked Flannery's debut on the no. 3 line, and improved her collegiate singles record to 10-0. 

The Tornados went an undefeated 7-0 through the month of March, including three USA South match victories. 

BC Women's Tennis returns to action on Wednesday, April 3 with a USA South road trip to Maryville, Tennessee to face the Scots of Maryville College (3-6, 2-1 USAS) at 1 p.m.
