BREVARD, N.C. – Sophomore goalkeeper Lex MacLauchlin was named USA South Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after the Tornados defeated Ferrum College 12-10 in non-conference action last week.
The McDonough, Georgia sophomore goalkeeper collected a win and seven saves in a 12-10 victory over Ferrum in the team's only contest last week. MacLauchlin also added two ground balls and one caused turnover in the win.
So far in 2023, MacLauchlin holds a 7-2 record in nine games started for the Tornados with 540 minutes played, totaling 70 saves so far in the season.
The Tornados return to action this Saturday, April 1 with a USA South Conference home matchup against NC Wesleyan University at 1 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
MacLauchlin's honor gives BC a grand total of 48 weekly awards from the USA South so far in 2022-23.
