BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Lacrosse team (1-9, 0-6 SAC) was unable to overcome a four-goal performance by Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters (4-8, 2-5 SAC) Casey Kelly, Amara Moss and Jasmin Click, falling 18-6 in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action.

The Tornados were paced offensively by junior Victoria Hayes (Freehold, N.J.) and freshman Micaiah Vacchiano (Sebastian, Fla.), who finished with two goals apiece, while juniors Kat Harrienger (Watertown, N.Y.) and Brittany Fisk (Waterloo, N.Y.) also got in on the scoring action, adding a goal each. Junior Nina Siu (Greensboro, N.C.) continued her season success as the Greensboro, N.C. native contributed three assists.

For the Railsplitters, Click, Kelly and Moss led the way with four scores apiece, while Kennedy Buechner and Zoe Zervos finished with three and two goals, respectively.

Lincoln Memorial goalie Shannon Novak impressed in net as a junior finished with five saves, while Tornados netminder Shelby Arsenault (Shallow Lake, Ontario) finished with a game-high 10 saves.

The Railsplitters concluded Saturday evenings SAC showdown with a 35-15 shot advantage and a slim 21-14 ground ball advantage. Brevard finished 10-14 on clear attempts for the game, while LMU converted on 10-13 attempts.

Following a Hayes score from Siu to open the evenings scoring, LMU reeled off four straight scores to take a 4-1 lead with just over 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

Siu connected with Vacchiano at the 17:58 mark to trim the Railsplitters lead back to two scores, but a 6-1 Lincoln Memorial scoring run to close out the have game the Harrogate, Tennessee native a 10-3 lead heading into halftime.

The Railsplitters added to their lead to open the second half, converting on three scoring opportunities to take a 13-3 edge, before Harrienger collected a Siu pass to halt the Tornados scoring drought.

However, LMU closed out the contest on a 5-2 scoring run to take the final 18-6 decision.

The Tornados will take a brief break from SAC action this coming Tuesday, Apr. 4 as they host Reinhardt for a 6 p.m. showdown from the Brevard Turf.
