Brevard falls 20-6 to No. 8 Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Junior goalie Shelby Arsenault records 16 saves and juniors Victoria Hayes (Freehold, N.J.) and Nina Siu (Greensboro, N.C.) post three goals apiece as the Brevard College Tornados (1-6, 0-3 SAC) fell 20-6 to the No. 8 Queens University Royals (6-2, 2-0 SAC), Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action.

Both Hayes and Siu would finish the afternoon tied for the team lead with three scores apiece as the juniors comprised all of the Tornados scoring on the afternoon. In addition to Siu's three goals, the junior also posted Brevard's lone score, while leading the team with five shot attempts.

For the Royals, Alexandra Bruder lead the way with three goals, while Queens finished the afternoon with 11 players scoring goals, eight of which finished with at least two goals apiece.

Defensively for the Tornados, Arsenault lead the way with 16 saves as the junior goaltender was under constant pressure all afternoon, as the Royals finished the match with 42 shot attempts.

The Tornados will look to pick up their first conference win of the 2017 season this coming Saturday, Mar. 25 as they travel to Hickory, N.C. to battle the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears beginning at 1 p.m.
