Brevard enters this weekend's contests coming off of back-to-back victories to begin the month of February. The Tornados defeated LaGrange College last Saturday, February 1, 65-54, before defeating Bob Jones University, 54-39, this past Tuesday to complete a season sweep.

Juniors Taryn Ledford and Destiny Williams each led the Tornado offense against LaGrange with 13 points apiece. Ledford came off the bench to make 5-of-10 shots from the field including three made 3-pointers. Williams stuffed the stat sheet with a near double-double effort of 13 points and nine rebounds while dishing out three assists and recording two steals.

Brevard led wire-to-wire en route to its victory over Bob Jones, where Ty'She Washington led all Tornado scorers with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field. The junior from Charlotte, North Carolina hit a pair of free throws and drained a 3-pointer in Tuesday's matchup.

Junior forwards Deja Riddick and Destiny Williams each scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds, while Victoria Green and Shakirah Thompson each hit a pair of 3-pointers to total six points apiece. Thompson grabbed a team-best five rebounds in the contest as well.

Brevard will be searching for a season sweep over Agnes Scott, as the Tornados took a 66-44 victory over the Scotties back on January 8 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. In that contest, junior Shakirah Thompson scored a career-high 21 points on a career-best seven made three-pointers. Thompson's seven three-pointers were the second most made three's in a single-game in school history.  The Atlanta native was just one three-pointer shy of the school record eight three-pointers made held by Annalee Bollinger (Nov. 29, 2017).

The Tornados will be looking to avenge a loss suffered earlier in the season to Covenant, as the Scots claimed a 64-55 decision against Brevard on January 28 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. Williams led Brevard with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Senior center Krysta Davis also scored 11 points to go along with six rebounds. Washington pulled down 10 rebounds while producing seven points.

Following its weekend road trip, the Tornados will return to The Bosh to host Piedmont College on Wednesday, February 12 at 6 p.m. in Brevard's Play4Kay game - as the Tornados join countless schools nationwide in playing in honor of Coach Kay Yow and fight against all cancers.
