Women’s Basketball Travels to Wesleyan on Friday

MACON. Ga. - Just under 48 hours removed from defeating Agnes Scott College at home at the Boshamer Gymnasium, 66-44, the Brevard College women's basketball team (4-8, 2-4 USAS) will head back on the road to face the Wesleyan College Wolves (0-13, 0-5 USAS) on Friday evening at 6 p.m.

The Tornados will be in search of a season sweep over the host Wolves, as BC defeated Wesleyan by a final of 78-58 back on December 7, 2019, at the Boshamer Gymnasium. Brevard will also be in search of its first consecutive wins of the 2019-20 campaign.

Junior guard Shakirah Thompson lit up The Bosh in Wednesday night's victory over Agnes Scott, pouring in a career-high 21 points off a career-best seven made 3-pointers. Thompson's seven long-range buckets were the second-most made in a single game in Brevard's NCAA-era.

Thompson has sunk a total of 30 3-pointers thus far in the regular season, placing her fifth in the USA South.

The Wolves, who are off to a 0-13 start this season, have been led by Natera Perkins offensively who has posted 11 points-per-game over Wesleyan's first 13 contests.

After Brevard's matchup against Wesleyan, the Tornados will return to the Boshamer Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 14 for a 6 p.m. tip-off against Maryville College.
