Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year.
BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.

The Brevard College Department of Athletics hosted the 2021-22 BESPYs, the college’s annual Athletic Awards ceremony on Monday, April 25 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. It marked the first in-person BESPYs awards banquet since the Spring of 2019.
The Brevard College Climbing team completed a highly successful 2021 season with a showing at the USA Climbing Collegiate National Championships on Thursday at Reach Climbing & Fitness in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. Four Brevard College student-athletes competed in the Bouldering category against a highly competitive field at the national championships. BC senior Madison Altman represented the Tornados on the women’s side, while juniors Caleb Trent, Kendrick Austin and Dawson Jacobs all competed in the men’s competition.
The Brevard College Climbing team posted impressive results at the USA Climbing Collegiate Southeast Divisional Championships held this past weekend at High Point Climbing in Birmingham, Alabama with several student-athletes qualifying for the national championships. Seven Brevard College student-athletes made the trip to the Divisionals with a total of four Tornados qualifying in the discipline of Bouldering for April’s USA Climbing Collegiate National Championships.
The Brevard College Climbing team will be competing at the upcoming USA Climbing Collegiate Southeast Divisional Championships to be held Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27, at High Point Climbing in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Brevard College climbing team posted impressive results, including an event win by junior Dawson Jacobs and a grand total of six total top-ten finishes, at the Wake Forest University Comp, a USA Climbing Southeast qualifying event in the discipline of bouldering held Saturday on the Wake Forest campus in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Brevard College climbing team earned a 1-2-3 sweep in men’s competition and took 2nd and 3rd place in the women’s results at the BigFoot Climbing comp, a USA Climbing Southeast Qualifying event in the discipline of bouldering held Saturday at the BigFoot Climbing Gym in Morganton, North Carolina.
A grand total of 229 conference and national awards were handed out to Brevard College student-athletes for their achievements during the 2020-21 season. A total of 31 national awards were garnered by Tornado student-athletes this past season, including 11 national academic awards.
