Tornados Drop Conference Tilt to Methodist
BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (5-11, 3-3 USAS) dropped a 9-0 defeat to USA South Conference foe Methodist (5-10, 3-2 USAS) on Saturday in the regular-season home finale at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

The visiting Monarchs swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead in the contest.  The number two doubles match proved to be the most competitive of the initial session with Ethan McGee and James Srsich taking the court for the Tornados.  McGee and Srsich battled Cameron Roth and Andrew Wood, but ultimately fell 8-5.

In number one doubles MU's Wills Belser and Matthew Hurley defeated Bryce Bernitt and Noah Lewis of Brevard 8-1.  Methodist won no. 3 doubles with Evan Kane and William Trocchi topping the Brevard tandem of JaMarcus Walker and Brian Seon by the score of 8-2.

Singles play proved to be a sweep for the Monarchs as MU won number one through five singles, all in straight sets.

Number six singles pitted Brevard's Brian Seon versus Brady Mendler of Methodist.  Seon won the first set 6-4, then Mendler answered with a 6-4 win of his own in set number two. The two players then dueled in a tiebreaker with Mendler prevailing 10-6.

Brevard will return to action with the regular season finale on Saturday at Southern Virginia.  First serve is set for 11 a.m. in Buena Vista, Virginia.
