Tornados Fall to Panthers in Non-Conference Action

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (2-9) dropped a non-conference matchup to Birmingham Southern College (10-2), 9-0 on a sunny Friday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

The Panthers swept doubles action before going 6-0 in singles play for the victory.

BC's number-two doubles team of JaMarcus Walker and James Srsich won team-best four games in an 8-4 defeat, while the Panthers had little trouble clinching the other two doubles contests.

Bryce Bernitt, competing in number-one singles, fell 6-3, 6-2 in the closest singles matchup of the afternoon for the Tornados, but the Panthers were able to cruise to the sweep win, 9-0.

The Tornados hit the road tomorrow for a USA South contest against William Peace University with a 3 p.m. start time in Cary, North Carolina.
