BREVARD, N.C. - Tom Mittring won his seventh straight singles match on Friday afternoon, as he earned Brevard's only point in the team's 8-1 setback to LaGrange on the Brevard Tennis Courts.

In the No. 1 singles battle, Mittring came out on top over Mitchell Corley 7-5, 6-3 in the second-to-last match to finish on the day. Tim Hengst and Will Christiansen were locked in three-set matches of their own, but the No. 2 and No. 3 Tornados were unable to beat Will Thompson and Alan Valdez, respectively.

The combination of Mittring and Hengst were also in a tightly-contested match with the Corley/Valdez doubles combo, but fell to the Panthers 9-8 (7-5) in duos action.
