Mittring and Davis earn win at doubles No. 1 against C-N

BREVARD, N.C. - The dynamic duo of Tom Mittring (Bavaria, Germany) and JR Davis (Hixon, Tenn.) picked up a win at the doubles No. 1 position against Carson-Newman's Stefano Daza and Rodolpho Schwarz in Saturday's conference match. The Tornados (4-15, 0-9 SAC) fell to the Eagles (6-8, 4-5 SAC) 8-1.

The Eagles swept the field in singles play. Tom Mittring gave Joao Pedro Oliveria a run in singles No.1 spot, taking him to extras in set one, falling 7-5 and then 6-2 in the final set. JR Davis had two solid sets against Rodolpho Schwarz at the No. 2 spot, falling 6-4 in both sets.

Tim Hengst (Menden, Germany) battled to a 6-4 loss in set one against Stefano Daza at the No. 4 position. Daza came back to win the final set 6-1.

Following an impressive performance by Mittring and Davis, Will Christiansen (Crawford, Miss.) and Tim Hengst had an solid match against Joao Pedro Oliveria and Gabreiel Dabdab, falling 8-5.

Brevard will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Wingate University tomorrow afternoon for a conference match beginning at 1 p.m.
