Brevard falls 9-0 to Trojans

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Men's Tennis team (4-14, 0-8 SAC) dropped a 9-0 decision to the Anderson University Trojans (14-4, 4-3 SAC), Monday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference tennis action.

After dropping No. 3 doubles as a result of a forfeit, the Tornados No. 2 Tandem of Will Christiansen (Crawford, Mass.) and Christoph Plasa (Wegberg, Germany) fell 8-0 to Ignacio Bidegain and Fabricio Lanza, while Tom Mittring (Bavaria, Germnay) and JR Davis (Hixon, Tenn.) after being up 5-4 to Nicolas Ascarrunz and Jeffrey Dayton, dropped a hard fought 8-6 final.

In singles play, the Tornados would drop No. 6 singles by forfeit, while Dan Taylor (Brevard, N.C.) fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Plasa would fall 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles, while Christiansen suffered an 8-1 defeat at No. 3. Following a 8-2 loss by Davis at No. 2, the Tornados top singles match of the afternoon came at No. 1 as Mittring fought Ascarrunz to a 8-4 final.

Brevard is set to return to the courts this coming Saturday, April 1 as they host the Carson-Newman University Eagles at 1 p.m. from the Brevard Tennis Complex.
