FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.- Brevard men's soccer could not complete the late comeback, as they lose to Methodist 3-2 Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Tornados to 1-3 on the 2017 season.

Scoring began in the 17th minute, as Methodist's Isaac Sanchez scored on a free kick from outside of the box.

In the second half, the Monarchs added another goal to their lead as Zvi Ferrari found the back of the net in the 52nd minute.

Less than a minute later, the Tornados cut the lead in half from a goal by Jorge Jimenez, his fourth goal of the season.

In the 70th minute, Methodist's Connor Morris scored from inside the box to make the score 3-1.

Brevard tried to mount a comeback late in the game, as Jesse Omezi drilled a penalty kick in the 87th minute.

The Tornados had one last-ditch shot from Gabriel Venegas, but the shot went wide of the net.

Brevard returns to action tomorrow afternoon (September 24) against N.C. Wesleyan.
