The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.

Brevard's first game in 678 days came last Friday, when the Tornados faced Oglethorpe University, falling 10-3 in Atlanta.

Junior goalkeeper Devin McCarragher stopped a career-high 15 shots, while senior attacker Sam Duffie found the back of the net three times in the game. Junior attacker Evan Francois dished out an assist to Duffie, while junior midfielder Nate Ellen won nine faceoffs and snagged a team-high six ground balls.

Averett has enjoyed early-season success through its first four contests of 2021, as the Cougars have defeated Centenary College, Oglethorpe, and Randolph College. The Cougars have been led by Liam Taylor, who has logged 13 goals through their first four games. Parker Corbett (11 points) and Nate Hann (10 points) also have double-digit point totals for Averett, while Marques Fleming has grabbed a team-best 26 ground balls and caused a team-high 10 turnovers. Cougar goalkeeper Jacob Shriver has stopped 45 shots en route to a 3-1 record starting in goal.

Following Friday's matchup, the Tornados will prepare for their USA South Conference opener, as Brevard heads to Demorest, Georgia to face Piedmont College on Saturday, March 20 at 12 p.m.
