BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team (0-1) is set for back-to-back home games, hosting Maryville College (1-1) at the Boshamer Gymnasium on Saturday and Sunday, with tipoff slated for 6 p.m Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Maryville comes into play on Sunday with a 1-1 record on the season, as the Scots split games with Piedmont College. Maryville's early season has been highlighted by a victory over fellow USA South Conference member Piedmont College, 82-73, on January 15. Through two games, the Scots are led by Myles Rasnick who is averaging 21.5 ppg.
The Tornados were led by LB Boyette with 12 points in their first and only game of the season against Greensboro College on January 10. A total of 14 Tornados made their debuts for Brevard in the season-opener, including eight freshman and six transfer student-athletes.
Following this weekend's action, the Tornados will return to action on the road when they head to Demorest, Georgia to take on Piedmont College in a weekend conference doubleheader. Game times are scheduled for Friday, February 5 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 6 at 2 p.m.
In an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spectators will not be permitted to attend Brevard College men's and women's basketball home games this season at the Boshamer Gymnasium on the BC campus. Members of participating teams, game officials, media, and other essential personnel relevant to event operations will be the only individuals permitted into the venue for 2020-21 Brevard College basketball games. The policy is in accordance with the USA South Conference's policy announced on January 7, 2021.
