Brevard Men’s Basketball Seeks Season Sweep of Piedmont

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team (5-15, 2-11 USAS) travels to Demorest, Ga. for a rematch against conference foe Piedmont College (3-18, 2-12 USAS) on Tuesday evening. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

The contest will be a rematch of an overtime thriller back on January 22 in Brevard, N.C. Brevard battled back from an 11-point deficit to claim an exhilarating 78-73 overtime victory from the Lions. BC was led by Levi Lamb, who posted 24 points, including the game-tying layup. 

The Tornados are looking to halt a three-game skid in which it has faced some of the conference's top opponents. Brevard most recently fell at home to Berea College by a final score of 78-64. The Mountaineers were led by the USA South's third-leading scorer Torell Carter, who dropped a game-high 28 points, adding eight rebounds and three assists to his efforts. 

Qadhafi Turner will look to continue his impressive defensive work that has accumulated over the course of the 2018-19 campaign. The junior guard from Wilmington, N.C. averages 2.2 steals-per-game, which ranks fourth overall in the USA South. 

The Tornados return home on Friday for a rematch with Covenant College (14-7, 13-1 USAS) at 7:30 p.m. 

SENIOR DAY: The BC Men's Basketball team will honor senior guard Ke'Vel Kingsberry prior to its home game against Greensboro on Saturday, February 9 at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to join BC in this special ceremony.
