Dynomite Kuhn enters his first season at Brevard College, entrusted with organizing recruiting efforts while also maximizing the organization and efficiency of day-to-day operations within the Tornados football program and external community relations.

Coach Dynomite was head coach Bill Khayat’s first hire at Brevard. The two have served on the same staff together as part of the 2013 NFL affiliated East West Shrine All Star Game and later in the college ranks at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.

Following an internship with the Buffalo Bills, Dynomite began his administration career with the then Austin Wranglers, a now defunct Arena Football League Texas franchise. From concept logo art to the playoffs in three years, Dynomite then ventured into the college ranks, beginning in Philadelphia, PA, with the Penn Quakers. Recruiting classes under his tenure accounted for Ivy League Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2012.

Starting in 2009, Dynomite began his long standing affiliation with former NFL head coach, Jerry Glanville. Dynomite had watched Glanville either coach a game (Houston Oilers/Atlanta Falcons) or call a game as a broadcaster (Fox/CBS Sports) and joined the staff at Portland State University where he was instrumental in charter flight negotiations and in acquiring a football specific strength coach. He was also tasked with due diligence regarding assistant coaching candidates—a skill that proved vital for the duo as their next stop together was in the United Football League.

When Glanville was named GM/Head Coach of the Hartford, CT franchise in the UFL, he immediately hired Kuhn, who started vetting the prospective assistants, and the result was a Colonials’ coaching staff with 139 years of combined NFL experience. In addition, Kuhn was point person for free agent combines in Atlanta, Houston, and Hartford. After the Colonials folded, Glanville and Kuhn were reassigned by the league to regional Comcast Sports TV broadcasts in Sacramento, CA and Virginia Beach, VA where he would later meet future Tornado coaches Bill Khayat and Kurt Gouveia.

After a year in television, Dynomite returned to the college sidelines with six-time FCS champions, Georgia Southern University. As executive assistant to the head coach in Statesboro, he handled external football operations including construction oversight of a $13 million dollar football operations facility and advancing for road games. Kuhn was part of the staff that became the first FCS program to defeat an SEC team at home when Georgia Southern drained the swamp in Gainesville against the Florida Gators in 2013. After head coach Jeff Monken departed for Army West Point, Dynomite stayed on under the new head coach, Willie Fritz, for spring ball before departing for Tennessee State University.

At TSU, working with Andrew Bather as a player and serving on the same coaching staff as Eric Gallon, Kuhn was instrumental in future scheduling and in securing an FBS guaranteed money game. He also oversaw the almost unheard of mid-season video transition to a new XOS Digital server, the migration of the coaching staff to Thunder terminology, opponent analytics, and self scouting tendencies.

A member of the College Sports and Video Association and the American Football Coaches Association, Kuhn is an avid power lifter and enjoys playing the piano, hiking, and considers himself to be a dog whisperer. Single and hailing from Zachary, LA, he graduated with a degree in business administration from Nicholls State in 2003.
