Parker Named CoSIDA Academic All-District for Second Straight Season

BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College football student-athlete Justin Parker has been named to the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for combined performance on the field and in the classroom.  It marks the second straight season that Parker has earned the elite academic and athletic honor.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.  The Academic All-District and All-American teams are selected by the membership of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Parker earned honors as part of the All-District 5 Team for NCAA Division III student-athletes from the geographical district comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Parker, a senior offensive lineman from Candler, North Carolina, is set to graduate in the Spring of 2022 with a degree in Exercise Science from Brevard College this Spring. He currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.72 throughout all his college work in the classroom.

On the field as a senior, Parker helped lead an offensive line that served as the nucleus for a BC offense that totaled 300-plus total yards in six contests and 200-plus rushing yards in three games.  In pass protection, Parker and the Tornado offensive line did not allow a sack in three games in the Fall of 2021.

In the Spring of 2021 as a junior, he played in three of BC's five games to help anchor the Tornado offensive front.  Parker and the BC offensive line paved the way to 701 team rushing yards in the Spring 2021 season for an average of 140.2 yards-per-game to go along with seven rushing touchdowns.

As a sophomore, Parker was a USA South Second-Team All-Conference performer playing in all ten games for the Tornados.  He helped lead BC to its most successful season and the first postseason bowl win in school history.  In his collegiate career, Parker has played in a total of 29 contests in the trenches.

Parker advances to consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-America selection.  Voting is scheduled to begin November 23 with the announcement of the Division III Academic All-America team slated for December 16.
