Rob Julian Named Assistant Baseball Coach at Brevard College

BREVARD, N.C. – Rob Julian has been named the Assistant Coach of the Brevard College Tornados Baseball program, announced newly minted Head Coach Mike Victory.

"I am very excited about adding Coach Julian to the staff," commented Coach Victory. "He has worked closely with some of the best coaches and players in his region. He brings extensive knowledge of new technologies and workouts impacting our game today. Rob was a tireless competitor and worker as an athlete and has only continued to bring that drive as a coach. He is exactly the guy I was looking for to help push this program forward."

Julian joins Brevard College after two seasons as the Graduate Assistant Coach at NJCAA Mercyhurst University North East in North East, Pennsylvania in addition to four seasons as a student-athlete at NCAA DIII Allegheny College. He will begin his duties as Assistant Coach of the Tornados on August 1.

"I would like to first thank Coach Mike Victory, as well as Director of Athletics Myranda Nash for this opportunity," stated Julian. "I am extremely excited and eager to start working with the team and bring my passion and energy for the game to Brevard. I believe that the College is in a great spot right now, and I expect it to only go up from here."

Over the course of Julian's two years with the Mercyhurst University North East Saints, he worked primarily with the pitching staff while assisting in the team's recruiting operations. Under Julian's assistance, the Saints appeared in two NJCAA Division II-Region III tournaments. The Saints also achieved numerous individual accomplishments under Julian's tutelage. Mercyhurst North East had seven players named All-Conference, nine players named All-Region, as well as having one student-athlete named an NJCAA All-American and OCCAC Player of the Year in the 2018 season. The Saints' pitching staff ranked top-10 in the NJCAA in strikeouts per nine innings under Julian's guidance.

As a student-athlete at Allegheny College, Julian was a four-year starting pitcher on the Gators' pitching staff from 2014-17. He was selected to the 2015 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) All-Conference team. During Julian's senior campaign, he ranked near the top of the country with fewest walks per nine innings (0.79).

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Julian attended Montour High School before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 2017 before earning his Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst University in 2019.
