Brevard Cross Country Teams Both Picked Third Ahead of 2022 USA South Cross Country Championships

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's and women's cross country teams were each selected to finish in third place in the USA South Conference Cross Country Pre-Championship Coaches' Polls, ahead of the 2022 USA South Cross Country Championships taking place Saturday in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

On the men's side, defending champion Southern Virginia University was atop the rankings with 36 points and six of the possible seven first-place votes. The Knights will look to capture the championship for the second time in just their second year as a member of the USA South. Methodist placed second in the pre-championship poll with 29 points while Brevard collected the final first-place vote and 27 points to sit third.

 Southern Virginia topped the rankings on the women's side as well with 47 points and five of the possible eight first-place votes. The Knights will look to capture the championship for the second time in just their second year as a member of the USA South. Meredith placed second in the pre-championship poll with 45 points and the final three first-place votes while Brevard collected 32 points to round out the top three.

The championship race will take place on the campus of NC Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, with the women's race beginning at 10 a.m. ahead of the men's race at 11 a.m.
