BC Volleyball Sets 2023 Schedule

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College volleyball program has set its schedule for the 2023 season. The schedule features 26 regular season contests, nine regular season matches at the Boshamer Gymnasium, and 18 USA South Conference matches.

"We're really looking forward to our schedule this Fall," commented Head Coach Abbie Parde, who enters her second season at the helm of BC Volleyball. "We start the season off with teams from the previous conference alignment to prepare for USA South competition. Our schedule is Conference-heavy, playing each time twice before the tournament. We have a great group of returners who are hungry to compete again, and a talented incoming class with similar energy. We're excited to get back in the gym!"

The Tornados will conclude their preseason with a scrimmage on Friday, August 25 vs. Cleveland Community College at the Boshamer Gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m. before the regular season gets underway on Friday, September 1 as BC hits the road to compete in the Maryville College Labor Day Classic in Maryville, Tennessee. Brevard will face Hanover College and Sewanee at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. before returning on Sunday, September 3 to face Huntingdon College at 3 p.m. and tournament host Maryville at 5 p.m.

Brevard will travel to nearby Warren Wilson College on Wednesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. to face the Owls for the first time in program history. The home opener for BC is on Wednesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. inside the Boshamer Gymnasium as the Tornados play host to Bob Jones University.

BC kicks off conference play by hosting its lone USA South tri-match at The Bosh, as the Tornados take on Mary Baldwin University at 10 a.m. followed by a meeting with Methodist University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 16.

Conference action rolls on as the Tornados hit the road on Tuesday, September 19 at 6 p.m. vs. Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. BC concludes a two-game road swing on Saturday, September 23 in Raleigh, North Carolina against Meredith College, with game time to be announced.

BC hosts Pfeiffer University on Wednesday, September 27 at 6 p.m. before competing in a tri-match hosted by NC Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, taking on NCW at 10 a.m. and Southern Virginia University at 12 p.m.

October begins with a mid-week matchup at The Bosh as the Tornados take on Greensboro College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3. BC visits William Peace University in Raleigh on Saturday at 2 p.m. before returning home for non-conference action on Tuesday, October 10 at 6 p.m. vs. Warren Wilson.

Brevard takes part in a conference tri-match on Saturday, October 14 in Staunton, Virginia as BC faces host Mary Baldwin at 10 a.m. and then Methodist at 12 p.m. The Tornados return home for a rematch against Salem at The Bosh on Tuesday, October 17 at 6 p.m. followed by a trip to Greenville, South Carolina to take on Bob Jones on Thursday, October 19 at 4 p.m. Senior Day is slated for Saturday, October 21 against Meredith at 12 p.m.

BC heads on the road for a four-match road swing to close out the month of October in Misenheimer, North Carolina against Pfeiffer (Wednesday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m.) a tri-match in Buena Vista, Virginia vs. Southern Virginia (Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m.) and vs. NC Wesleyan (12 p.m.) and in Greensboro, North Carolina vs. Greensboro (Tuesday, October 31, 6 p.m.). The regular season concludes on Friday, November 3 at 6 p.m. vs. William Peace at The Bosh.

The first round of the 2023 USA South Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 9. The USA South Volleyball Championship will take place on Sunday, November 11.
