    The Brevard College volleyball program has set its schedule for the 2023 season. The schedule features 26 regular season contests, nine regular season matches at the Boshamer Gymnasium, and 18 USA South Conference matches.
  • Tornados Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics proudly celebrates this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD).  The Tornados will host a celebration at the next home athletics event – the Women’s Basketball game vs. N.C. Wesleyan on Friday, February 3 with tipoff set for 6 p.m. ET at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
  • Program-Best Three Tornados from BC Volleyball Named Academic All-District Team

    Brevard College Volleyball’s Bailey Lance, Kaitlyn Pressley and Grace Pukas were all named to the Academic All-District team for the Fall 2022 season.  All three Tornado volleyball student-athletes now advance to the ballot for the 2022 CSC Academic All-America team.
  • Abbie Parde Named Brevard College Head Volleyball Coach

    BREVARD, N.C. – Abbie Parde has been named Head Volleyball Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Parde is elevated to the head coaching position, effective immediately, after serving as Interim Head Volleyball Coach of the Tornados this past season.

    The Brevard College volleyball team (6-21, 4-14 USAS) concluded its 2022 campaign with a resounding two-match sweep over conference opponents N.C. Wesleyan (9-19, 5-13 USAS) and Methodist (12-17, 6-12 USAS) on Saturday in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
  • Salem Sweeps Brevard in Winston-Salem

    The Brevard College volleyball team (4-21, 2-14 USA South) fell in straight sets, 3-0, to Salem College (19-8, 11-5 USAS) on Thursday evening in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  The Spirits took the first set, 25-18, before narrowly taking a 25-23 win in the second set. The hosts closed things out with a 25-19 win in set number three to sweep the match. 
  • BC Splits Pair of USA South Conference Matches

    The Brevard College volleyball team (4-20, 2-13 USAS) split a pair of USA Conference neutral-site contests at a league quad-match event on Saturday on the campus of Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina.  Brevard defeated Mary Baldwin (2-26, 1-13 USAS) in straight sets, then fell 3-0 to Southern Virginia (27-1, 14-1 USAS).
  • Tornados Close Out Home Schedule with Senior Day Celebration

    The Brevard College volleyball team hosted its final home match of 2022, honoring its senior setter Grace Pukas in a special pre-match ceremony on Tuesday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium. The Tornados (3-19, 1-12 USA South) earned a first-set win before falling in three-consecutive sets to the Greensboro College Pride (16-10, 10-3 USAS) in a 3-1 match defeat (26-24, 20-25, 20-25, 23-25).
  • Tornados Drop Pair of USA South Contests

    The Brevard College volleyball team (3-18, 1-11 USAS) dropped a pair of USA South Conference matches at a league quad-match on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina. BC fell 3-0 to host Meredith College (15-9, 7-4 USAS) in the Tornados’ first match of the day, followed by a 3-0 defeat to William Peace University (18-6, 8-2 USAS) in neutral-site action.
  • Tornados Win Thrilling 5-Setter at Pfeiffer for First Conference Win

    The Brevard College volleyball team (3-16, 1-9 USA South) won its first USA South Conference match of the season with a thrilling, five-set win over host Pfeiffer (5-17, 3-7 USAS) on Wednesday evening at Merner Gym in Misenheimer, North Carolina.  The win marked the first victory for the Tornados in five sets this season as BC won the decisive frame to take the 24-26, 25-17, 25-15, 23-25, 15-12 win.
  • Tornados Fall Just Short in Five-Setter Followed by Four-Setter in Virginia

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-16, 0-9 USAS) came up just short, dropping a five-set match to N.C. Wesleyan (6-10, 2-4 USAS) followed by a four-set defeat to Methodist (9-10, 4-5 USAS) on Saturday at a USA South Conference quad-match hosted by Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Virginia.
  • Parkins Totals Career-Best 23 Kills; Spirits Complete Comeback in Five Sets at The Bosh

    Junior outside hitter Makenna Parkins drove home a career-high 23 kills and junior outside hitter Kaitlyn Pressley totaled the seventh triple-double of her Tornado career, but the Brevard College volleyball team (2-14, 0-7 USA South) fell in five sets as the Salem College Spirits (10-5, 3-2 USAS) rallied off three consecutive set wins to take a five-set victory, 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 16-25, 13-15), on Tuesday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium. 
  • Tornados Drop Pair at USA South Quad-Match in Virginia

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-13, 0-6 USA South) dropped a pair of matches at a USA South Conference quad-match event hosted by Southern Virginia University on Saturday in Buena Vista, Virginia. The Tornados played the host Southern Virginia in the first match of the day before taking on Mary Baldwin University in a neutral-site affair later in the afternoon. Southern Virginia (10-6, 4-1 USAS) defeated BC in four sets, while Mary Baldwin (2-17, 1-4 USAS) won its match versus the Tornados in straight sets.
  • BC Falls in Three Close Sets at Greensboro

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-11, 0-4 USA South) fell in three close sets to host Greensboro College (8-8, 3-1 USAS) in a weekday USA South Conference matchup Wednesday night in Greensboro, North Carolina. Greensboro won the first two sets by identical 25-21 scores, before taking the match with a 25-20 third set victory.
  • Tornados Drop Pair in Home USA South Quad-Match

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-10, 0-3 USA South) hosted a USA South Conference quad-match on Saturday at the Boshamer Gymnasium.  The Tornados played two matches, falling to William Peace (13-3, 3-0 USAS) 3-0 in the first contact of the day before dropping a 3-0 result to Meredith (9-5, 2-1 USAS) to cap off the afternoon.

  • BC Concludes Play at Tornado Classic

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-7) dropped a three-set match to non-conference opponent Bob Jones University (8-5) on the final day of the Tornado Classic on Saturday at the Boshamer Gymnasium. Bob Jones won the first set 25-15, then went on to win the following two frames 25-16 and 25-15 to take the straight-set victory.
  • BC Volleyball Hosts First Day of Tornado Classic, Falls to Hawks in Nightcap

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-6) hosted the first day of the Tornado Classic tournament at the Boshamer Gymnasium as four different teams competed on Chick Martin Court on Friday afternoon. The Tornados faced old USA South foe Huntingdon College (7-4) in the last game of the evening, falling in straight sets, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-17). Alongside Huntingdon, Brevard also hosted Bob Jones University – who it will face tomorrow at noon – and Salem College, with Methodist University joining the group in the morning. The tournament opened with Bob Jones defeating Salem 3-1, while Huntingdon dropped the Bruins by a final of 3-1.

  • Tornados Fall Twice to Conclude Meredith College Tournament

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-4) dropped a pair of matches on the final day of the Meredith College Tournament on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina. Brevard fell to former USA South member Berea (2-2), 3-1, in the morning match-up. The Tornados then squared off against Bridgewater (3-2) in the afternoon tilt, also falling in four sets.

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-2) opened play at the Meredith College / William Peace University crossover tournament held in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday afternoon. The Tornados were able to win a set in both matches but fell 3-1 to former USA South Conference foe Maryville College and host Meredith.
  • Volleyball Takes Two to Open 2022 at Labor Day Smash

    The Brevard College volleyball team (2-0) got off to a hot start to begin the 2022 season, as the Tornados defeated Toccoa Falls College 3-1 before sweeping host Agnes Scott College 3-0 at the Labor Day Smash Tournament on Saturday in Decatur, Georgia.  The pair of victories mark the first career wins for Interim Head Coach Abbie Parde. 
  • USA South Releases 2022 Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll

    The USA South Conference has released its annual preseason coaches poll for volleyball, picking the Brevard College volleyball team to finish eighth in the conference. Southern Virginia was picked to defend its championship from a year ago thanks to receiving 81 total points and nine of the possible ten first-place votes. The Knights finished last season with a 16-2 regular season Conference record, claimed the East Division Championship, and captured the USA South Tournament crown. Meredith, who was second in the poll with 70 total points and the final first-place vote, was Southern Virginia's opponent in last year's tournament championship match. William Peace rounded out the top three with 67 points.
  • Brittany Franks Named Brevard College Assistant Volleyball Coach

    Brittany Franks has been named Assistant Volleyball Coach at Brevard College, announced Interim Head Coach Abbie Parde. Franks, an alumna of Brevard College, will assist in all aspects of the program while spearheading BC Volleyball’s strength and conditioning program.

    Abbie Parde has been named Interim Head Volleyball Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash.  Parde steps into the role with the departure of Anna Grant who was at the helm of the BC Volleyball program for the past seven years. “Very quickly, Coach Parde has displayed the ability to step into this new role and to guide the Tornado volleyball program this Fall,” said Nash.  “We also thank Coach Grant for her outstanding service to Brevard College and her mentorship to so many student-athletes over these past seven years.”
