Volleyball Postseason Bound for First Time Since 2015, Fourth Time in NCAA-Era

BREVARD, N.C. – For the first time since the 2015 season and the fourth time in Brevard's NCAA era, the Brevard College volleyball program will be competing in postseason action, as the Tornados have clinched a berth into the 2021 USA South Conference Volleyball Tournament following their 3-0 victory over Agnes Scott College on Tuesday.

Brevard, who holds a .500 record with a 7-7 mark in conference play, has won its most overall games since 2017, while BC's seven conference victories are its most since the 2015 season.

Statistically, Brevard's offense has been led by freshman outside hitter Ashley Hoxit with 242 kills in addition to 133 digs on the defensive end. Hoxit's 2.69 kills-per-set ranks top-10 in the conference. Sophomore Kaitlyn Pressley has turned in an all-around campaign with 220 kills, 253 assists, and 169 digs. Pressley, who registered her first career triple-double last Spring, has totaled two more triple-doubles this season.

BC's defense has been led by sophomore defensive specialist Bailey Lance, who has racked up 397 digs and 4.41 digs-per-set this season – marks that rank ninth and eighth in the conference, respectively. In addition to her work on the defensive end, Lance has totaled 47 service aces (t-4th in USA South) and 0.52 service aces-per-set (5th in USA South). Freshman setter Logan Priddy has distributed 381 assists to go alongside Pressley's 253.

BC, under the direction of seventh-year Head Coach Anna Grant and second-year Assistant Coach Kia Kaufman, will close out the regular season on Saturday at the Boshamer Gymnasium with a Senior Day USA South Conference Tri-Match against Wesleyan College (12 p.m.) and Covenant College (4 p.m.) before taking part in the USA South Conference Volleyball Tournament First Round and Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 2.
