Tornados Open Action at Emory Classic, Fall to No. 4 Emory

ATLANTA - The Brevard College volleyball team (0-2) kicked action off at the Emory Classic, hosted by nationally-ranked #4 Emory University, in Atlanta on Friday. The Tornados fell in straight sets to Emory (2-0) in the non-conference contest. 

Sophomore transfer Bailey Lance totaled seven digs for the Tornado defense, while freshman Logan Priddy dished out five assists. Sophomore Kaitlyn Pressley added four assists, three digs, and two kills, while Melanie Hoyle also drove home a pair of kills. 

Lily Martin led the Eagle offense with 11 kills, while Sarah Luong distributed a game-high 21 assists as Emory cruised to the straight-set triumph. The Eagles claimed the first set, 25-9 before a 25-14 second set and 25-12 third set victories. 

The Tornados return to action on Saturday for a doubleheader of contests at the Emory Classic. BC first faces fellow USA South Conference member LaGrange College at 10 a.m. before taking on Willamette University at 12:30 p.m.
