BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (9-11, 3-3 USA South) fell 9-0 to Huntingdon College (7-7, 4-2 USAS) on Friday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex on the BC campus.

Sophie Trantham and Hamrick Perry paired up in number-one doubles, while Alli Kogoy and Melody Ferguson combined for the number-three doubles duo, with each pairing falling in 8-3 decisions. Hannah Hersh and Brooke Garland turned in the closest doubles match of the afternoon, but eventually fell 8-7 by virtue of a 7-4 tie-breaking game.

The Hawks were able to cruise through singles play to take the 9-0 sweep team victory over Brevard. Trantham took her opponent to the wire in number-five singles, battling back with a 6-1 set two victory, but dropped the tiebreaker 10-5.

The Tornados will be looking to wrap up a postseason berth next Tuesday, April 19 when Brevard hosts Maryville College at 3:30 p.m.
