BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College women's soccer collected two more weekly conference honors this week, as freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Lozano earned USA South Conference Defender of the Week while freshman midfielder Kiara Porcelli was awarded Rookie of the Week by the USA South.

Lozano, a freshman from St. Petersburg, Florida, earned a shutout win in a 7-0 victory over Toccoa Falls College. The goalkeeper made two saves en route to the 90-minute clean sheet. Lozano is 3-1 in four career starts this season with 11 total saves, three shutouts, and a .688 save percentage in 360 minutes of on-field action.

Porcelli, a freshman from Nashua, New Hampshire, scored a brace with two goals to help lead Brevard's offensive explosion against the Screaming Eagles. The two goals marked the first two of Porcelli's collegiate career. The freshman has made four starts this season and has scored on each of her two shot attempts on the year.

Lozano and Porcelli return to action with the rest of the 2022 BC women's soccer team on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Berea College in Berea, Kentucky.
