BREVARD, N.C. – Sophomore defender Abbie Worsencroft was honored by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA), garnering a selection onto the All-State First Team.
Worsencroft, a native of West Union, South Carolina, becomes just the fourth Tornado all-time to earn All-State honors from the NCCSIA, joining BC alumni Sydney Alencewicz '18 (First Team), Ashley Hughes '19 (First Team), and Caroline David '19 (Second Team).
The defender put together an impressive sophomore season, starting and playing in all 19 contests for the Tornados at the center back position. Worsencroft scored three times while dishing out an assist for seven total points, as two of her goals became eventual match-winners – highlighted by a game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Johnson & Wales NC on October 20, 2021. Defensively, Worsencroft was a major part in nine total shutouts for the Brevard defense in 2021.
Brevard women's soccer concluded their nine-win season with a trip to the 2021 USA South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, where Brevard hosted a playoff match for the second time in as many seasons.
