Riggan Earns Divisional Honor, Hatter Selected to Sportsmanship Team

BREVARD, N.C. – Senior midfielder Sallie Riggan and sophomore defender Lena Hatter were honored by the USA South in the conference's postseason awards. Riggan took home West Division Second Team honors, while Lena Hatter was picked as Brevard College's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Riggan, a fifth-year senior from Wilmington, North Carolina, concluded her Tornado career in a big way, as the midfielder led all Tornados with a career-high six assists, finishing her BC career with five goals and eight assists for 18 points. The honor marks the first at the conference level for Riggan, who will finish her Tornado career in fourth place for NCAA-era career assists after her breakout Fall 2021 campaign.

Hatter, a sophomore from Indialantic, Florida, played in 15 matches while making six starts for the Tornados as part of a fierce backline for a BC team that registered nine shutouts in the Fall season.

The Tornados recently concluded their nine-win season with a trip to the 2021 USA South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, where Brevard hosted a playoff match for the second time in as many seasons.
