Rojas Matches Career-High Save Total in Setback to Maryville

BREVARD, N.C. - Goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas matched her single-match career high with 13 saves in Brevard College women's soccer's (5-6-3, 3-2-1 USAS) 3-0 defeat to Maryville College (7-6-2, 4-2-0 USAS) on Wednesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

Rojas, a graduate student from Murrieta, California, matched her career high of single-match saves originally set back in the 2019 season against Maryville, stopping 13 Scot shot attempts.

Bailey Sipos registered a brace of goals for the visiting Scots, logging two of Maryville's three scores in the contest. Macy Lindsey added a goal as Maryville was able to claim the 3-0 conference win.

The Scots were able to control possession throughout the contest, outshooting Brevard 20-1 while controlling three corner kicks to BC's one.

Maryville broke the scoreless 0-0 contest in the 18th minute when Sipos pushed a ball into the back of the net that was bounced around in the box by a host of Scots, taking the 1-0 advantage.

Macy Lindsey added to the Maryville lead with a 21st minute unassisted goal. The Scots would take a 2-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

Sipos would score her second goal, a 68th minute left-footed strike off a Delaney Muldoon assist, pushing the Maryville advantage to a 3-0 margin that it would take into the final whistle.

The Tornados will be back in action for Senior Day on Saturday against Agnes Scott College at Ives-Lemel Family Field, with kickoff slated for 2 p.m.
