BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's soccer team (4-5-2, 3-1-0 USAS) won its third consecutive USA South Conference match with a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting Wesleyan College (0-7-1, 0-2-0 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

With the win, the Tornados have now won three straight and three of their first four conference games to start USA South play. The conference winning streak began on September 26 with a 2-1, double-overtime victory at LaGrange and continued with a 1-0 win over Piedmont this past Wednesday.

Brevard dominated play, outshooting the Wolves 32-0 as the BC defense matched a school record by not allowing a single shot in the match.  Over the three-game win streak, BC has outshot its opponents 84-16.

After a scoreless first half where the Tornados outshot the Wolves 16-0, BC broke the deadlock with a goal in the 69th minute as sophomore Taylor Richardson scored her second goal of the season.  The unassisted goal came off a well-placed shot over the outstretched arms of Wesleyan's goalkeeper Maya Phillips.

Sophomore Tae Brown added an insurance goal for the Tornados in the 87th minute off a pass by Emma Gooch. It marked the second goal of the year for Brown and the second career assist in the collegiate career for Gooch, a junior from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ten Tornados fired off multiple shots led by Richardson's five shots. Aliyah Vaughan and Samantha Foster each fired off four shots to add to the high total.  Other multi-shot performances came from BC's Brown (3), Maddy Edwards (3), Alyssa Hetherington (2), Olivia Little (2), Justine St. Louis (3), Abbie Worsencroft (2), and Autumn Wright (2).

Brevard's defense of Channing Barker, Lena Hatter, Emma White, and Abbie Worsencroft prevented the Wolves from attempting a single shot on the afternoon.

Goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas recorded her fourth shutout of the season on an afternoon where she did not face a single shot on goal.  It marked the school-record 21st shutout in the career of the graduate student from Murrieta, California.

Next up for the Tornados is a non-conference home match vs. Warren Wilson College on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  Brevard continues its USA South Conference schedule on Saturday, October 9 vs. Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
