BC Drops Conference Opener in Montgomery 
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Brevard College women's soccer team (1-5-2, 0-1 USAS) fell 1-0 to host Huntingdon College (6-2-0, 2-0-0 USAS) in BC's USA South Conference opener on Saturday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama.
 
The match's lone goal came in the 59th minute on an unassisted finish by Huntingdon's Erin Cembrale. 
 
Brevard goalkeeper Cam De Silva started in front of the net for the first time this season and in her career as a Tornado.  The sophomore from Cumming, Georgia recorded six saves in the contest.
 
Huntingdon outshot BC 12-9 in the match with a 6-1 shot advantage in the opening half.  The Tornados upped the offensive pressure later in the contest, outshooting the Hawks 8-6 in the second half.
 
Senior midfielder Sallie Riggan registered two shots with both shots finding the goal.  Tae Brown registered two shots with one forcing one of seven saves by HC goalkeeper Kiki Culpepper. 
 
Shots also were delivered by BC's Aliyah Vaughan, Emma White, Lena Hatter and Alyssa Hetherington.
 
Brevard returns to conference play with its second consecutive road match in as many days with a visit to Lagrange College on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in LaGrange, Georgia.  Next home match for the Tornados is set for Wednesday, September 29 at 7 pm. vs. Piedmont University at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
