BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's soccer team (1-3) hosted Berry College (2-2) on Saturday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field, falling by a final of 2-0.
Graduate goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas stopped a season-high seven shots in the contest, while BC fired four shots towards goal on the evening.
Karsen Brantley and Christina Marijanich each logged a goal and an assist in the first half to put the contest 2-0 in favor of the visitors. Berry's defense shut down the Tornado attack for the remainder of the contest to claim the shutout victory, 2-0.
Hayley Kenney and Sallie Riggan each logged shots on goal, while Tae Brown and Alyssa Hetherington also tallied shot attempts in the match.
Marijanich put in a Brantley cross in the third minute that was followed in the 22nd minute when Marijanich returned the favor with a cross that Brantley sent into the back of the net.
Berry outshot Brevard, 13-4, while controlling three corner kicks to Brevard's one.
The Tornados are back in action on Wednesday, September 15 when Brevard hosts William Peace at 5 p.m. at Ives-Lemem Family Field.
