    Brevard College placed 154 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2022-23 academic year.

    Four Brevard College women’s lacrosse student-athletes – Emily Denaga, Cassidy Hutto, Lex MacLauchlin, and Parker Moore – were recently honored by College Sports Communicators (CSC) earning At-Large Academic All-District honors.
  • Roya Tahmassebi Named Brevard College Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach

    Roya Tahmassebi has been named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Tahmassebi succeeds Kristin Rosato who coached the Tornados for eight seasons, capped off by the most successful season in program history in 2023. Rosato will remain with Brevard College Athletics in her role as Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator.
  • Historic 2023 Campaign Concludes in First Round of USA South Tournament

    The historic 2023 season for the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (11-6) came to a conclusion with a 23-8 defeat at the hands of four-seed Methodist University (12-5) on Monday afternoon in the first round of the USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.  The contest marked BC’s first postseason appearance since the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Tournament and the second overall tournament appearance in program history. 
  • Brevard Concludes Historic Regular Season with Defeat at Methodist; Postseason Begins Monday

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (11-5, 5-4 USA South) concluded its most successful season in program history with a 20-6 setback to host Methodist (10-8, 7-3 USA South) on Saturday in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  The Tornados earned the fifth seed in the USA South Conference postseason tournament and will face fourth-seeded Methodist again in a rematch on Monday at 3 p.m. in the tourney’s first round.

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (11-4, 5-3 USA South) honored its seven-member senior class on Senior Day against Southern Virginia University (9-5, 6-1 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. 
  • Piedmont Escapes Brevard, 14-13, in Thrilling Conference Showdown

    In an epic clash of two of the top teams in the USA South Conference, Piedmont University (10-5, 6-1 USA South) edged the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (11-3, 5-2 USAS) 14-13 in a thrilling matchup on Wednesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The defeat halts a program-record seven-game win streak for the Tornados, who have clinched postseason play for just the second time in program history and the first time since the 2016 season.

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (11-2, 5-1 USA South) set a new program record with a 27-goal outburst as Brevard cruised to a 27-4 triumph over Conference foe William Peace University (1-9, 0-6 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at the WakeMed Sportsplex in Cary, North Carolina. 
  • Tornados Continue Record-Breaking Season with Win over Greensboro

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (10-2, 4-1 USA South) defeated Greensboro College (0-7, 0-5 USASS) by a score of 24-4 in a USA South Conference matchup on Monday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  With the win, BC won 10 games for the first time in program history while extending its program-record win streak to six straight victories.  The 24 goals scored marked a season-high for the Tornados who have now scored 20 or more goals in four straight games, outscoring opponents 90-34 in the last four contests.   Brevard continued its success at Ives-Lemel Family Field as well, improving its record in home games to 6-1 on the season.
  • Parker Moore Sets Single-Game Program Goal Record; Tornados Dominate Ridge Rivalry Game, 23-11

    Senior attacker Parker Moore shattered the single-game program record for goals scored with 11, as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (9-2) dominated the second-annual Ridge Rivalry game over Warren Wilson College (2-4), 23-11 on Friday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Moore, a senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, scored 11 goals including six from the free position to shatter the previous single-game mark of nine goals held by numerous Tornados, including Moore herself. Sophomore midfielder Emily Denaga added six goals and three assists for nine points and also broke her own single-season record for draw controls, as the Buford, Georgia native tallied 13 on Friday to bring her season total to 105.
  • Moore Earns USA South Player of the Week Nod for Second Time this Season

    For the second time this season, Brevard College women’s lacrosse senior attacker Parker Moore earned USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week honors following an undefeated week in conference play for the BC women’s lacrosse team. The Raleigh, North Carolina senior attacker totaled 20 points on 13 goals and seven assists with six draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Tornados against USA South foes. In a 23-17 win at Pfeiffer, Moore scored six goals with five assists, six draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers. In a 20-2 victory over N.C. Wesleyan, Moore scored seven goals with two assists.
  • Tornados Dominate Battling Bishops; Win Streak Reaches Program-Record Four Games

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (8-2, 3-1 USA South) won its program-record fourth game in a row as the Tornados cruised to an 18-goal triumph, 20-2, over NC Wesleyan University (2-6, 1-2 USAS) on a windy Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The victory gives the Tornados its fourth-consecutive victory, which is the longest win streak in program history. Brevard notched its eighth win of the season in 10 games, continuing its program-record start to the season as the Tornados are just a win away from tying the 2015 squad for most single-season victories.
  • Strong Second Half Gives Tornados Pivotal Conference Win, 23-17

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (7-2, 2-1 USA South) outscored Pfeiffer University (1-8, 1-2 USAS) 12-4 in the second half to come back and defeat the Falcons 23-17 in a midweek USA South Conference matchup at N.E. Lefko Field in Misenheimer, North Carolina
  • MacLauchlin Secures Defensive Player of the Week from USA South
    March 27, 2023
    Sophomore goalkeeper Lex MacLauchlin was named USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after the Tornados defeated Ferrum College 12-10 in non-conference action last week. The McDonough, Georgia sophomore goalkeeper collected a win and seven saves in a 12-10 victory over Ferrum in the team's only contest last week. MacLauchlin also added two ground balls and one caused turnover in the win.
  • Brevard Takes 12-10 Victory over Ferrum in Thriller at Home

    Emily Denaga, Paige Kneubuhler, and Parker Moore each scored three goals apiece as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (6-2) won a non-conference thriller, 12-10, over Ferrum College (4-4) on Wednesday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The victory improves BC’s record to 6-2 through eight contests so far in the 2023 campaign, surpassing eight-game starts in the 2016 and 2019 seasons for the best eight-game beginning to a season in program history.
  • Kneubuhler Takes Home Rookie of the Week Honors for Second-Straight Week
    March 20, 2023
    Freshman attacker/midfielder Paige Kneubuhler was honored by the USA South Conference for the second-consecutive week, earning USA South Rookie of the Week honors. Kneubuhler, a first-year Tornado from Evansville, Indiana, totaled seven points on six goals and one assist to go along with six ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Tornados. In a 20-4 loss to Meredith, Kneubuhler scored three times with two ground balls and two draw controls. In a 16-6 victory over Huntingdon, Kneubuhler totaled scored three goals with one assist, four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and one draw control.
  • Tornados Win First USA South Road Game of 2023

    In the team’s first road conference game of the season, the Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse team (5-2, 1-1 USAS) defeated Huntingdon (1-3, 0-1 USAS) 16-6 on Saturday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama. Senior attacker Parker Moore led the Tornados on the offensive attack with a game-high five goals.  It marked the third time this season that Moore has scored five or more goals in a contest. 
  • Kraemer Named National Co-Offensive Player of the Week by IWLCA

    Brevard College senior attacker Autumn Kraemer was named DIII National Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) following her big week of action over Spring Break that included a program-record 12-point performance in an 18-5 victory over Sweet Briar College. Kraemer, a native of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, becomes the second BC women’s lacrosse student-athlete to earn a national player of the week honor this season, as fellow senior attacker Parker Moore garnered the honor after the opening week of the season. Kraemer was also named USA South Conference Offensive Player of the Week following a week in which she totaled 16 points on 11 goals and five assists in two contests.
  • Kneubuhler Logs Hat Trick; Brevard Drops Conference Opener

    Freshman attacker/midfielder and reigning USA South Conference Rookie of the Week Paige Kneubuhler tallied a hat trick with three goals, but the Brevard College women's lacrosse team (4-2, 0-1 USA South) fell 20-4 to reigning USA South champion Meredith College (4-2, 1-0 USAS) on Tuesday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  Kneubuhler tallied three goals while fellow freshman Xan Hill also found the back of the net. Goalkeeper Lex MacLauchlin (4-2) anchored the defense with 10 saves. Sophomore midfielder Emily Denaga won six draw controls for the Tornados.

    Senior attacker Autumn Kraemer was selected as the USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman attacker/midfielder Paige Kneubuhler earned Rookie of the Week honors after big performances in BC’s two Spring Break victories last week.
  • Strong Second Half Propels Tornados to 16-11 Victory to Close Spring Break

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (4-1) used a strong second-half performance to defeat Guilford College (0-4) 16-11 on Wednesday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The Tornados are off to their best start to a season in program history as BC improves their record to 4-1 through five games. 
  • Kraemer Breaks Program Single-Game Points Record; Tornados Dominate Vixens 18-5

    Senior attacker Autumn Kraemer set a new program record with 12 points (nine goals, three assists) as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (3-1) dominated Sweet Briar College (1-2) 18-5 on Monday afternoon in Sweet Briar, Virginia. Kraemer, a senior from Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, tied a program-high for single-game goals with nine and dished out three assists for a career and program-best 12-point mark as the Tornados cruised to their third victory in four games to begin the 2023 season. Senior attacker Parker Moore added four goals and five assists for nine points herself, while Paige Kneubuhler built upon her impressive freshman campaign with two goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Emiy Denaga won eight draw controls and got on the score sheet alongside senior Grace Vaught with one goal each, while Savannah Colliver added an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Lex MacLauchlin (3-1) made five saves in the win for Brevard.
  • Cougars Control Spring Break Opener over Tornados

    The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (2-1) fell for the first time in the 2023 season, as the Tornados fell to Averett University (2-0) 21-4 on Saturday afternoon in Danville, Virginia.  The Cougars used a 14-2 stretch in the first half to open up a big lead and did not look back, outscoring BC 9-2 down the stretch for the 17-goal victory.

  • Moore Secures Program’s First National Player of the Week Honor from IWLCA

    Senior attacker Parker Moore was selected as the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National DIII Co-Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance in Brevard College’s season-opening 19-18 victory over Randolph College last Sunday at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The honor marks the first time in the history of BC women’s lacrosse that a player has earned a national player of the week honor from the IWLCA.
  • Moore Picked as USA South Conference Player of the Week

    Senior attacker Parker Moore was selected as the USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week after her stellar individual performance in Brevard’s 19-18 season-opening victory over Randolph College. The Raleigh, North Carolina senior attacker totaled 11 points on eight goals and three assists in the only contest last week for the Tornados, a 19-18 win over Randolph. Moore also added three ground balls and three draw controls in the victory while her goal with 1:28 proved to be the game-winning tally.

    Senior attacker Parker Moore scored a game-winning free-position shot with 1:31 left to play as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (1-0) pulled out a thrilling 19-18 triumph over Randolph College (0-1) in BC’s season-opener on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  Moore, a senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, put away a free-position attempt that gave BC a one-goal lead late that it would not relinquish, as the Brevard defense held strong to keep the WildCats off the board in the final minute of action in a high-scoring affair. 
  • Tornados Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics proudly celebrates this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD).  The Tornados will host a celebration at the next home athletics event – the Women’s Basketball game vs. N.C. Wesleyan on Friday, February 3 with tipoff set for 6 p.m. ET at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
  • Women’s Lacrosse Tabbed Sixth in Preseason Coaches Poll

    The USA South Conference women’s lacrosse head coaches released their annual preseason coaches poll, selecting the Brevard College women’s lacrosse program to finish in sixth place in the standings.
