Berry Takes Spring Break Matchup in Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (2-3) fell 21-1 to Berry College (6-1) on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. 

KC Collins scored Brevard's goal on an assist from Savannah Colliver. Collins, Colliver, and Morgan Graham each had three ground balls, while Lexi Maclauchlin made nine saves. Collins played the second half in front of the goal for BC, making three stops. 

Berry was paced by an eight-goal performance from Haley Larsen, while Molley Cross scored five times. The Vikings held a commanding 47-7 ground ball advantage, and totaled 31 ground balls to Brevard's 20. The visitors forced 26 Tornado turnovers as well. 

The Vikings were able to put five goals in the back of the net before extending their lead to a 9-0 margin midway through the second quarter. Brevard's goal came at the 6:00 mark, as Collins put in a Colliver assist to cut the deficit, Berry was able to score three times in the final three minutes of the half to take a 12-1 lead at the halftime intermission. 

From there, Berry cruised to the win, scoring five goals in the third period before closing the contest out with four in the fourth quarter to clinch the 21-1 lead. 

Brevard returns to action on Saturday when the Tornados host William Peace University in the USA South Conference opener, set for a 12 p.m. first draw at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
