Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll Released
BREVARD, N.C. – The USA South Conference has released its annual preseason women's lacrosse coaches poll for the upcoming 2022 season of competition. The Brevard College women's lacrosse team was picked to finish in ninth place in the rankings. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
Meredith, winners of seven consecutive USA South tournament championships, is the USA South preseason favorite with 99 total votes and nine first-place votes in the balloting. A new addition to the sport of women's lacrosse within the conference will be Southern Virginia which finds itself in second place of the preseason rankings after receiving 92 points and two first-place votes.
Averett and Piedmont were tied for third in the rankings, each receiving 76 votes. Methodist (fifth, 63 votes) and Pfeiffer (sixth, 51 points) come next in the rankings, followed by Huntingdon (seventh, 48 votes) and N.C. Wesleyan (35 votes).
Brevard garnered 24 votes to secure ninth place, finishing ahead of Greensboro (10th place, 22 votes) and William Peace (11th place, 19 votes) in the rankings.

Brevard, under the direction of seventh-year Head Coach Kristin Rosato and first-year Assistant Coach Roya Tahmassebi will open the 2022 season on Saturday, February 19 at Ives-Lemel Family Field against Sweet Briar at 10 a.m.
The 2022 USA South Women's Lacrosse Tournament will be conducted exclusively on campus sites with the top-six teams advancing to postseason play. The USA South Conference tournament is scheduled to be held April 26-30.
