  • Rosato Named Assistant A.D./Senior Woman Administrator at Brevard College

    Kristin Rosato has been named Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. In addition to her new duties, Rosato will continue in her role as a Head Coach as she enters her eighth season at the helm of the Tornados Women’s Lacrosse program.
  • Brevard College Places Record 167 Student-Athletes on USA South Academic All-Conference List

    Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year. BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics hosted the 2021-22 BESPYs, the college’s annual Athletic Awards ceremony on Monday, April 25 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. It marked the first in-person BESPYs awards banquet since the Spring of 2019.

  • Women’s Lacrosse Claims 22-8 Victory in Inaugural Ridge Rivalry

    Several Tornados totaled career-high point totals as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (6-10) cruised past Warren Wilson College (3-8), 22-8, in the inaugural Ridge Rivalry contest, as BC took home the brand new “Iron Mountain” trophy following its win on Tuesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Junior attackers Autumn Kraemer and Parker Moore each scored seven goals with three assists for 10 points each, as both Tornados set their career-high mark for single-game points. Both 10-point totals rank tied for second in the program’s single-game record for points scored. Emily Denaga, a freshman attacker from Buford, Georgia, scored a career-high eight points after a four-goal, four-assist performance. Denaga led the Tornados with eight draw controls, while Kraemer controlled seven.
  • Knights Run Past Tornados in Virginia

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (5-10, 3-6 USA South) fell 18-2 to Southern Virginia University (8-6, 7-1 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Buena Vista, Virginia.  The Knights scored 13 goals in the first half en route to the 18-2 conference victory. 
  • Tornados Win Big at Greensboro

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (5-9, 3-5 USAS) recorded a decisive 20-2 win over host Greensboro College (0-9, 0-7 USAS) in USA South Conference competition on Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina. Junior Autumn Kraemer led the Tornados offensively with a season-high six goals and two assists. Senior KC Collins, junior Parker Moore and freshman Emily Denaga each produced four goals scored, while junior Savannah Colliver added two scores for the 20-goal total.

  • Big Day from Denaga and Moore Help Tornados Take Conference Opener

    Freshman midfielder Emily Denaga and junior attacker Parker Moore each scored five goals as the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (3-3. 1-0 USA South) won its USA South Conference opener with a 13-7 victory over William Peace University (1-4, 0-2 USAS) on a windy Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Denaga, a freshman from Buford, Georgia, scored five goals and won a game-high 10 draw controls with a career-high eight ground balls on the defensive end. Moore, a junior from Raleigh, North Carolina who transferred from BC from WPU, scored five times alongside an assist for six points, which tied the game-high. KC Collins added two goals and an assist, while Savannah Colliver added a goal and a team-high two assists.

  • Denaga Earns Conference Rookie of the Week Accolade

    Freshman midfielder Emily Denaga was selected as the USA South Conference Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, giving the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team three conference awards through the first two weeks of the 2022 season. Denaga, a native of Buford, Georgia, accumulated nine goals and an assist for 10 total points, while also securing 16 draw controls as the Tornados split a pair of contests last week. In a home defeat to Alma College, Denaga led all Tornados with six goals, including a 2-for-2 mark on free-position shots, while winning six draw controls. Denaga’s six goals came on just seven shot attempts for a shooting percentage of 86%. In a 20-15 victory at Randolph College, Denaga scored three times with an assist, with all three of her goals coming on free-position shots. The freshman tied her season-high with 10 draw controls won as well.
  • Tornados Win 20-15 On Road at Randolph

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (2-1) won its first road contest of the 2022 season with a 20-15 victory over host Randolph (1-1) on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg, Virginia.   Six different players scored for the Tornados who hit the 20-goal mark for the second time this season.  
  • Second Quarter Run Lifts Scots to Win over Tornados

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (1-1) fell by a final of 21-13 to the visiting Alma College Scots (3-0) on Wednesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  Freshman Emily Denaga scored a career-best six goals to lead all Tornados, while Parker Moore added four goals. Reigning USA South Player of the Week KC Collins added two goals and three assists, while Savannah Colliver added a goal and Ashton Cashwell dished out an assist. Denaga also secured six draw controls for Brevard.

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (1-0) opened its 2022 campaign with a dominant 21-3 triumph over Sweet Briar College (0-1) on Saturday morning at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Brevard’s 21 goals were the program’s most since BC put 26 past Salem College on February 28, 2018.
  • Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll Released

    The USA South Conference has released its annual preseason women’s lacrosse coaches poll for the upcoming 2022 season of competition. The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team was picked to finish in ninth place in the rankings. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
  • Brevard Women’s Lacrosse Schedule Released

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022 season of competition. “I'm excited about the upcoming season and finally getting back to a full schedule,” commented seventh-year Head Coach Kristin Rosato. “We have a great group of upperclassmen that will lead us on the field this year, as well as a strong group of newcomers that will help to add depth in all areas. I'm looking forward to January so we can start the preparations for our first contest against Sweet Briar College on February 19.”
  • Athletics Field House Officially Opens with Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting

    The new Athletics Field House on the campus of Brevard College officially opened its doors with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, August 27. The 10,375 square foot Field House will provide locker room, offices, storage and meeting space for six Brevard College sports as well as classrooms and a laboratory for the college's Exercise Science program.
