BREVARD, N.C. – Freshman forward Olivia Miller was honored by the USA South Conference with her third Rookie of the Week selection of the 2022-23 season.
Miller, a native of Hudson, North Carolina, averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game as the Tornados posted a 1-1 record against USA South competition. In a 92-62 loss to Greensboro, Miller scored six points with two rebounds, and one assist. In a 66-52 victory over Salem, Miller posted 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and one assist.
The freshman has impressed in her first season in a Tornado uniform en route to three selections as USA South Rookie of the Week. Miller got her collegiate career off to a hot start with five-consecutive double-digit scoring performances in her first five college basketball games. All told, Miller scored in double figures 13 times and logged a pair of double-doubles in her impressive freshman campaign.
Miller's honor gives BC a grand total of 37 weekly awards from the USA South so far in 2022-23.
