Williams Matches Career High, Bruins Down Tornados with Big Fourth Quarter

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Graduate forward Destiny Williams matched her career-high with 32 points, but the Brevard College women's basketball team (6-3) fell in a 66-57 contest to Bob Jones University on Tuesday evening in Greenville, South Carolina. 

Williams, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, matched her career-high set last season in the USA South Conference West Division Tournament vs. Piedmont with 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting that included five made 3-pointers, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Lexi Shepard, a freshman guard, scored eight points with three assists and two steals. 

BC took an early 24-12 lead in the first quarter before BJU answered back with a 20-15 margin in the second stanza, as Brevard held a 39-32 advantage at halftime. Bob Jones was able to cut the lead to a 51-47 margin heading into the fourth quarter before the Bruins outscored the Tornados, 19-6, in the fourth period en route to the nine-point victory, 66-57.

Brevard will match up with Wofford College in an exhibition on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
