BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's basketball program, under the helm of sixth-year Head Coach Donald Hudson and first-year Assistant Coach Annalee Bollinger, has released its schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season of competition.

"This time of year is always exciting," said Coach Hudson. "As coaches, we are ready to watch our teams get out there and compete. We are all fortunate enough to have a full schedule this year and are hopeful that all will go well and we are able to complete it. We have two exhibitions and a challenging non-conference schedule that will help prepare us for the tough USA South West Division."

The Tornados, who clinched a berth into the 2020-21 USA South Women's Basketball West Division Tournament last season, will begin their quest for consecutive postseason appearances on Monday, November 8, as Brevard travels down to Greenville, South Carolina to take on NCAA DI Furman University in an exhibition competition. Start time is to-be-determined.

Regular season play commences on Friday, November 12 as Brevard heads to Lookout Mountain, Georgia for Mountaintop Madness, hosted by Covenant College. The two-day tournament will pit the Tornados against Greenville University at 6 p.m. before BC takes on Berry College on Saturday, November 13 at 2 p.m.

The Tornados will open up at home on Tuesday, November 16, taking on Bob Jones University at the Boshamer Gymnasium for a 6 p.m. tip. BC then plays its first two USA South Conference contests on the road, taking on Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia on Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m. before a Sunday, November 21 matchup with Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia at 2 p.m. The Tornados will close out the month of November on Tuesday, November 30 with a rematch vs. Berry at The Bosh beginning at 6 p.m.

BC's brief four-game stretch in December opens with back-to-back home contests against Pfeiffer University (Thursday, Dec. 2, 6 p.m.) and Warren Wilson College (Friday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m.) before the Tornados head back to Greenville – this time for a rematch with Bob Jones on Tuesday, December 7 at 5 p.m. Brevard plays its final competition before winter break on Thursday, December 9, competing in an exhibition against Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with game time to-be-announced.

January begins with consecutive conference road contests for Brevard, as the Tornados head to Montgomery, Alabama to play Huntingdon College on Friday, January 7 at 5 p.m. ET before a Saturday, January 8 tilt in LaGrange, Georgia versus LaGrange College at 2 p.m. BC returns to The Bosh for a midweek contest against Maryville College on Wednesday, January 12 at 6 p.m. prior to hosting Berea College on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m.

BC will dip out of conference action briefly, making the short trip to Swannanoa, North Carolina on Tuesday, January 18 for a 6 p.m. tip against Warren Wilson. BC's USA South schedule then continues with matchups against LaGrange (Friday, Jan. 21, 6 p.m.) and Covenant College (Saturday, Jan. 22, 2 p.m.) at the Boshamer Gymnasium. The month of January wraps up as the Tornados travel first to Demorest, Georgia to match up with Piedmont College on Wednesday, January 26 at 6 p.m. and then to Berea, Kentucky for a Saturday, January 29 matchup with Berea beginning at 2 p.m.

The final month of the regular season begins Tuesday, February 1 when BC meets up with Piedmont at The Bosh at 6 p.m. The Tornados will then trek back to Lookout Mountain, this time for a game against Covenant on Thursday, February 3 at 6 p.m. Wesleyan (Saturday, Feb. 5, 2 p.m.) and Agnes Scott (Sunday, Feb. 6, 2 p.m.) visit the Boshamer Gymnasium for rematches against the Tornados, while BC makes its final road trip of the regular season on Wednesday, February 9 against Maryville in Maryville, Tennessee at 6 p.m. Brevard hosts its final home contest of the regular season on Saturday, February 12 against Huntingdon at 2 p.m.

The USA South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament will begin on Saturday, February 19 as first-round action commences on-campus sites. The semifinals and championship contests will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 25-26.

The Tornados will look to make the postseason for back-to-back seasons for the first time in BC's NCAA era. Brevard returns a majority of its 2021-22 roster, including 2020-21 USA South All-Conference West Division Second Team selection Destiny Williams, alongside a strong class of six newcomers into the fold. Williams led BC in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, averaging 18 points-per-game while grabbing a team-high 7.5 rebounds-per-game and totaling 3.6 steals-per-game – a mark that ranked top-10 nationally a season ago.
