Brevard College Athletics 2023 Hall of Fame Class Announced
June 30, 2023Brevard College has announced the selection of the three newest inductees into the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame with the selections of Scott Dvorak ‘89 (Cross Country/Track & Field), Ray Gill ’05 (Baseball) and Joh Tuttle Tyson ‘10 (Cycling). -
Brevard College Places 154 Student-Athletes on USA South Academic All-Conference List
June 13, 2023Brevard College placed 154 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2022-23 academic year.

Alvarez, Brodmyer from BC Track & Field/Cross Country Named Academic All-District
May 31, 2023Two Brevard College student-athletes were selected as 2022-23 Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District performers, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). BC’s Luis Alvarez and Devon Brodmyer were both named to the Academic All-District team for the 2022-23 season and now advance to the ballot for the 2022-23 CSC Academic All-America team.

Program Best Five Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Student-Athletes Named Academic All-District
May 31, 2023A program-best five student-athletes from the Brevard College Cross Country and Track & Field teams have been named 2022-23 Academic All-District performers, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Brevard College Cross Country and Track & Field student-athletes Channing Barker, Hannah Hersh, Haylea-Layne Miller, Isabell Musser and Grace Pukas were all named to the Academic All-District team for the 2022-23 season. All five Tornados now advance to the ballot for the 2022-23 CSC Academic All-America team.

Josh Hall Selected as Director of Track & Field at Brevard College
May 25, 2023Josh Hall has been tabbed as the Director of Track & Field at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash. Hall’s duties at BC will begin effective June 1, 2023. Brevard’s Darryll Patrick, who has served in both the Head Cross Country and Track & Field roles since 2019, will shift to Head Cross Country Coach and aide Hall as Assistant Track & Field Coach.

Outstanding Results for Tornados at USA South Conference Championships Hosted by Brevard College
April 28, 2023For the first time in program history, the Brevard College track & field teams hosted the USA South Conference Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Championships at the Frank Patton Track located on the BC campus. BC collected 12 podium finishes on the men’s side while adding six podiums on the women’s side for 18 total. Brevard’s men’s team finished third with the women’s side garnering a sixth-place team finish.

Tornados Post Results at Highly Competitive Electric City Invitational
April 15, 2023The Brevard College men’s and women’s Track & Field teams competed at the recent Electric City Invitational held April 14-15 on the campus of Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. Several Tornados posted results in a variety of events at the highly competitive event that featured 25 men’s and 26 women’s teams. Brevard College junior Zoe Capps earned a third-place podium finish in the Women’s 10,000 meters as the top finishing Tornado at the event. Capps, a native of Hendersonville, North Carolina, ran a time of 41:21.38 in the distance race to secure the finish.

Track & Field Opens 2023 Season
March 18, 2023The Brevard College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams kicked off their 2023 season at the Trojan Opener in Anderson, South Carolina. The competitive event featured 16 teams on the men’s side and 14 women’s teams. A number of strong results and several collegiate debuts came in Brevard’s season-opening meet.

Tornados Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day
February 01, 2023The Brevard College Department of Athletics proudly celebrates this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). The Tornados will host a celebration at the next home athletics event – the Women’s Basketball game vs. N.C. Wesleyan on Friday, February 3 with tipoff set for 6 p.m. ET at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
