BREVARD, N.C. – Senior thrower Jerome Bass was selected as the USA South Conference Track & Field Men's Field Athlete of the Week following an impressive individual performance at the LR Bear Invitational, held in Hickory, North Carolina this past Friday and Saturday.

Bass, a native of Red Springs, North Carolina, competed last week in two events. In the discus, Bass' best throw was 26.20 meters while in the Shot Put, his best effort was 14.91 meters. The effort in Shot Put placed Bass third out of 26 total competitors.

Bass, who is a dual-sport athlete at Brevard College (Football, Track & Field) holds the lead amongst all USA South Shot Put performers with his personal-record 14.91m mark, set last weekend.

The accolade gives Brevard 26 USA South Conference weekly awards won by a Brevard College student-athlete in the 2021-22 season.

Bass and the rest of the Brevard College Track & Field team will compete this Friday and Saturday at the Electric City Invite, hosted by Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina.
