  • Brevard College Places Record 167 Student-Athletes on USA South Academic All-Conference List

    Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year. BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.

    The Brevard College Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams raked in nine total postseason awards from the USA South following the conclusion of the 2022 USA South Conference Track & Field Championships in Berea, Kentucky.

  • Brevard College Tornado Student-Athletes Honored at 2021-22 BESPYs

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics hosted the 2021-22 BESPYs, the college’s annual Athletic Awards ceremony on Monday, April 25 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. It marked the first in-person BESPYs awards banquet since the Spring of 2019.
  • Bass Selected as USA South Field Athlete of the Week after Steller Showing at LR Bear Invitational

    Senior thrower Jerome Bass was selected as the USA South Conference Track & Field Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following an impressive individual performance at the LR Bear Invitational, held in Hickory, North Carolina this past Friday and Saturday. Bass, a native of Red Springs, North Carolina, competed last week in two events. In the discus, Bass' best throw was 26.20 meters while in the Shot Put, his best effort was 14.91 meters. The effort in Shot Put placed Bass third out of 26 total competitors.
  • Tornados Turn in Strong Results at LR Bear Invitational

    The Brevard College track & field team competed in the LR Bear Invitational on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.  Several Tornados posted strong performances, as Brevard gears up for the USA South Conference Track & Field Championships on Thursday and Friday, April 21-22 in Berea, Kentucky.
  • Barker Earns Track Rookie of the Week Award after Big Weekend at SWU’s Gotta Run Invite

    Sophomore sprinter Channing Barker has been selected as the USA South Conference Women’s Track & Field Track Rookie of the Week after a big individual showing this past weekend at the SWU Gotta Run Invite in Central, South Carolina. Barker, a first-year track athlete from Dunlap, Tennessee, performed exceptionally in two events for the Tornados. In the 400-meter dash, Barker finished in a time of 1:00.98 placing fifth, while in the 800-meter race she completed the event in 2:23.24 for a 10th-place finish. Both finishes were personal bests for the sophomore dual-sport athlete (T&F, WSOC).
  • Track & Field Continues Season at Montreat Invitational

    The Brevard College track & field team continued its 2022 season on Friday and Saturday at the Montreat College Invitational at MC’s Pulliam Stadium in Montreat, North Carolina. George Wells turned in another successful week in the competitive field featuring NCAA DI, DII, and NAIA competition. Wells, a sophomore from Columbia, South Carolina, finished in 10th place in the men’s 1500-meter run with a 4:06.94 time. Channing Barker led things on the women’s side with a seventh-place performance in the women’s 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:01.66. Barker turned in an 18th place performance in the women’s 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.57.
  • Tornados Compete at CIU Invitational in Columbia

    The Brevard College track & field team competed in the CIU Rams Invitational, hosted by Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. The Tornados competed in the second day of the event held on Saturday. George Wells turned in one of the top performances for the Tornados, placing eighth in the 1500-meter race, finishing with a 4:06.45. Wells also turned in a top-15 finish in the men’s 400-meter dash, placing 14th with a 53.48, while Rami Kadri finished 16th in the same event, running a 53.81.
