BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's tennis team fell by a final score of 9-0 to Methodist University in the first round of the 2023 USA South Conference Men's Tennis tournament on Monday afternoon at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The defeat concludes the 2022-23 campaign for the Tornado men's tennis team, who qualified for the conference postseason for the second-consecutive season.

BC fell behind 3-0 in doubles play to the fourth-seeded Monarchs before the hosts swept singles play en route to the 9-0 victory.

BC's number-two doubles unit of Ethan McGhee and James Srsich faced off in a competitive 8-5 result in favor of Cameron Roth and Andrew Wood of Methodist, as BC fell in number one and three doubles play, 8-1.

The Monarchs were able to cruise in singles action, dropping just a total of 15 sets played out of 72 to comfortably take the first-round match.

2022-23 marks the second season in a row that the Tornados have qualified for the USA South Tournament, as the Tornados have won three conference matches in back-to-back seasons.
