  • Horton and Walker Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

    Recent Brevard College graduate JaMarcus Walker and rising senior Devin Horton were each named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes. The honor marks Horton’s second consecutive Scholar-Athlete selection, while the nod is Walker’s first of his collegiate career. The honors mark the 23rd and 24th selections in BC’s NCAA-era history for men’s tennis.

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team fell by a final score of 9-0 to Methodist University in the first round of the 2023 USA South Conference Men’s Tennis tournament on Monday afternoon at the Gene Clayton Tennis Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (5-12, 3-4 USA South) concluded its 2022-23 regular season with a 9-0 defeat to host Southern Virginia (9-3, 6-1 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (5-11, 3-3 USAS) dropped a 9-0 defeat to USA South Conference foe Methodist (5-10, 3-2 USAS) on Saturday in the regular-season home finale at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (5-10, 3-2 USA South) defeated Greensboro College (1-6, 1-5 USAS) in a USA South Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex. 
  • Tornados Sweep Mary Baldwin for Road Conference W

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (4-10, 2-2 USA South) earned a 5-0 road conference victory over Mary Baldwin (0-17, 0-5 USAS) on Friday afternoon in Staunton, Virginia.  The rain-shortened event was clinched after BC won its fifth match.
  • Tornados Roll Past William Peace

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (3-9, 1-1 USA South) rolled to an 8-1 victory over host William Peace University (3-2, 1-1 USAS) in USA South Conference competition on Saturday at Lions Park in Cary, North Carolina. The Brevard number one doubles team of sophomores Bryce Bernitt and Noah Lewis made an early statement with an 8-6 victory over WPU’s Daniel Hidalgo and Benjamin Fleming.
  • Tornados Downed 9-0 by Battling Bishops

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team (2-8, 0-1 USA South) fell 9-0 to defending USA South Conference champion and nationally-ranked No. 19 NC Wesleyan University (8-6, 3-0 USAS) on Sunday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
  • Tornados Drop Match 6-3 to Scots

    The Brevard College men's tennis team (2-2) dropped a non-conference road match 6-3 to host Maryville College (2-2) on Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Tennessee. Brevard topped Maryville in doubles play, winning two of three matches to start the afternoon.   Junior Devin Horton and sophomore Bryce Bernitt won in number two doubles with an 8-4 victory over a strong Scots team.  BC's number three doubles team of seniors James Srsich and JaMarcus Walker then won its match by an identical 8-4 score.
  • Lewis and McGee Earn Double Team of the Week Award from USA South

    Brevard College men’s tennis’ top-flight doubles pairing of Noah Lewis and Ethan McGee were selected as the USA South Conference Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week after earning a doubles win in BC’s 7-2 season-opening team victory over Johnson & Wales NC.
  • Tornados Cruise to Victory in Spring Opener

    The Brevard College men’s tennis team opened its 2023 campaign with a 7-2 victory over Johnson & Wales in windy conditions on Friday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex. BC opened with a pair of doubles wins to take an early advantage.  Ethan McGee and Noah Lewis won in number one doubles 8-2, while the team of James Srsich and JaMarcus Walker made quick work of their opponents with an 8-1 in number three doubles.
  • Men’s Tennis Slotted Fifth in USA South Preseason Poll

    Seeking consecutive postseason berths for just the second time in program history, the Brevard College men’s tennis team was picked to finish in fifth place in the annual USA South Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
